i got a allison in the jimmy dump truck an was wanting to know if they are preety tough an relialbe i was pulling my dozer today an seems like i got to keep in mashed to floor at all times ,an when on hill it feels like it is sliping is this the way they operate .i dont no much about them.

Most of our international's come with them, they seem pretty reliable. Whats the fluid look and smell like? It might just need serviced, dropping the pan changing the filter and blowing out the trans cooling lines. Some depending on what model have an external spin on filter also. When you drop the pan there is a magnet in the pan so its important to see if there is any metal debris, that can tell you there is an issue.

Allison synthetic trans fluid or amsoil syn. trans oil I would go head and change it that's the life of an automatic. I've got 2 07' mack's with allisons that's the way we drive them matted to the floor they don't pull as good on top end as a manual but more than makes up for it 0-60 and not having to change gears

It should be on the right side of the case on a metal plate. It will say allison on it then like a model number. I always use the allison synthetic too. If you give your dealership your last 8 of the vin they can get the model number and just look up the filters for you also.
