It's parked right now, the owner(S) are milling about trying to get some info about how this occurred. I have told them ZERO warrantee until I see the thing set to original specs... Period. Turns out now that they got permissive with a driver several years back, nobody knows exactly what was done, or by whom. I'm hanging tough and noisy about putting every thing back to the original arrangement number. I'm not going to eat an engine that was terribly abused beyond it's capabilities.
I used to snowmobile hard... My theory there was leave it stock and ride it forever.:D

Yeah, I don't know... This truck was originally delivered to me in 2006 to install toolboxes and a cabguard. It was rated 450HP with a 10 speed. Over the years the drivers whined for more power and more gears. So it got a 13speed in '09 and some time after that the HP ratings mysteriously began to creep up. The first inframe was at 625K (not by me). It's eaten one head per year, It's now just 60,000 miles short of a million. Their old '94 Cornbinder with the series 60 is at 1.6 million with one head change, 430 HP on the pedal and 470 on cruise and a 10 speed. But it's so ugly nobody worries about being "cool" with it.
These guys keep bugging me for advice on newer used trucks and I'm not liking any of the stuff I see. Tier 3 Cummaparts mostly, a few Double Trouble C-15 Cats...:badi It's ugly out there. I sent them to check out Fitzgerald Gliders and recommended they go back to 60 series Detroits. Good or bad... I dunno, but those 60's are like the Energizer bunny.:D

That's the reason Tate Trans bought the Coronado Freightliner gliders starting with five of them five years ago. The 550Hp 14 liter flat pulls for what it is and very good jakes.
mileage is about 4.8 to 5 at 100,000 gvw. Those have been pretty good trucks for us. The DD15 and 16's we run now really are very reliable. Change the particulate filter
at 300,000. People can rave about the ISX but after the last eleven there won't be any more in our yard, and that really brakes my heart:avid.
