69 KW-That I Rebuilt

This is a 1969 that I rebuilt in 2001. Before and after pics to go with it. But I had lost the after pics and had not seen this 69 for 9 years.
Until this morning when I saw it parked not far from my shop. It looks a little rough from when I finished it. It has a very warmed up
BCII, 14613, SQ100 on AG100. 94 W900 power steering.

I removed the old 335 and rebuilt and installed the BC 400-449 CPL, The trans I threw a bearing kit in it, The rears and suspension came
out of an 88 T800 that I put walking beam under. I bobbed the aluminum frame because of rot and corrosion around the old suspension
hangers. Really didn't need that wheel base anyway. Rebuilt the interior, made a polished aluminum dash, new headliner. Rewired most
all of it. And replaced all of the airlines, from the dash back. I had D Cool Visors build that visor. I repainted it myself then added the
1998 daylight doors and the green paint to the fenders.

The company I worked for at the time sold it to this farmer for a pretty penny.

I drove a KW identical to that but I thought mine was a '78.Mine........I say mine,it wasn't mine but I worked for this guy for several years as an operator, drove dump trailer, moved equipment etc but he painted ours black with a gold frame,it had a 400 Cummins in it with a 13 speed RR but it could pass as your rebuild except for the paint and your wheelbase might be a little longer.I regret that I didn't take more pics back in those days. What a nice job Mike,I feel like I could jump right in it and go to work and feel right at home. Thanks for the treat.Ron G

Thanks Ron. The left fuel tank and some bumper lights and a few other things have been added after it sold. It doesn't look to bad after thirteen years,
but it is rough around the edges. I had built a custom air charge cooler to take place of the shutters in front of the radiator. Was going to install that using
the intake manifold from the 335 that was in it. But left that place of work before I got it done. Always wanted to remove that Cummins after cooler.
I noticed the wig wag was still there.

That was back in '91 right after I met my current lady who I owe my life to these days.Darlene learned to flip the toggle switch on the dash while riding with me pulling the dump trailer to turn the jake on and off.Yep,I still can't live without her!!Ron G

Nice job Truck Shop!!! Just out of curiosity, did the daylight doors bolt right up or did you have to do some modifications to make them fit?

Thanks, Had to re-drill cab pillar for hinges and change out the striker pins if I remember right. It really wasn't that big of a job to install them.
But the comments and strange looks it received were funny sometimes. It did add alot of light to the interior plus make it look more modern
inside and out.

Found out this old heifer went for $18,000 at auction. I sure as hell wouldn't flopped down that kind of cash for it. And I built it! Wow some people
are hard up to find things to spend their money on.:crazy

Older trucks are bringing bigger money now that all this emissions crap is choking today's engines. If they are solid they are often more reliable than new trucks!

Found a photo under the local ATHS chapter truck show from 2003 when I had just finished this truck. It looked considerably better then.
