Friend of mine has a Dodge 3500 Dually, Cummins, is Licensed RV so he does not get hit on Driver License to pull his trailer, Truck is rated 30,000#, weighs just shy of 8000, trailer is 17,600 with water and waste tank somewhat loaded and supplies aboard. He got a ticket at Home Town using it to haul lumber from Jefferson City to his Home on a 16' trailer, was explained is Licensed RV, cannot use for any other purpose. $85 ticket. He is PISSSED!!

Got a update from our friends Insult added to injury. RV plate renewal came in mail so he went to DMV to renew, was a Handling Note on the Tag number. Needed to show they had a alternate vehicle for general purpose use as they are not to be using the RV as a daily driver commuter or any other aspect but RV. They have no other car, sold it last year as 'No Longer Needed', so asked what can do. Was explained could put a weight license Beyond Local on it, HOWEVER, due to to the 30,000 GVWR on the 3500 Dodge Diesel the two of them would then require CDLs for a Combination vehicle to drive it.

I suspect the event is FAR from over.

And the lines draw ever tighter due to people doing just as this. All that has to happen is follow the rules.

My workshop as of yesterday. have heard from JY, looking as two weeks to arrival if all goes as planned(Yeah RIGHT, I Know!!)
Temp workbench is for parts arrangement out and back in, still working on additional cleanup/cleanoff!! Little box shape on bench is a Step Box for our aging mutt Dachsy to access the couch or his favored chair!

Went yard scrounging after voting today. closest HDT yard just 20 miles north of here.

Turned up a battered Tool Box end caps usable where need to lengthen 6" anyway makes replacement of bottom and back easier. Came with lower step supports and Hood end filler. Just 6" short!! $100

All may be moot at this juncture. Trying not to go political but with the currently winning POTUS figure the finances may no longer exist for this.

Really wanted to get this done, sad to say it is dying in front of my face.

I also already ordered a aftermarket battery box thru TCS in Strafford MO, seems I can either buy a Used box for $250-300 and pay $100-150 in shipping(Buyer Beware!!) or buy this one for $460 delivered to the supplier and go pick it up.(3-3.5 hours one way and gas). Have spoken with JY, was really down as the election results were so bad, will still be getting the truck, may just end up taking longer as drag my feet on it, watching and worrying.

Postponed another week, health issues came up and I for one am NOT pushing not taking care of someone that needs attention. That and one haul truck option is now blocked by Covid. Sh!t Happens, I expect nothing more nor less than that!!!

Shop is essentially cleaned up, just minor adjusting to piles to make it better. Dragged a section of 2" pipe I had left over out, measures just at 7' and had some odd pieces laying about so built a push pole to be able to reposition the truck as need to with a farm tractor off the drawbar or a bare receiver insert on my pickup for push power to a tow eye.

Looks can be deceiving!! Started the mods to make Usable in that Extra metal Sprue was removed along with the lid mounts that came with the box. Used the mounts that came off the used box I am going to rebuild as it will have a Tool box Hinged door and bolted down top. That stated I received the Huck Gun I will be using last night with the Huck bolts and Collars on the way from the West Coast.

Todays activities:
Stripped the used box as also got the tins Yesterday from my Metals supply shop.
