Holmes 1801 Superliner Mack

This unit was originally owned by Fenn's Towing, in La Grande, Ore. Then Hagerman of Umatilla ,Ore. Now it is owned by
Ole Olson in Minot, ND. I saw this unit in action some years ago-what a puller, the Holmes 1801 is rated at 50 ton.
I was talking to a Fenns driver yesterday about it-I got the feeling they wished they hadn't sold it. The first two pics were
when Fenn's owned it.

Pretty tough looking rig there.
Did you ever see the old KW that Lin Thornton had down in Umatilla? It had a 60 ton Oberg on the back, I saw it in action down by Arlington pulling a log truck out of the canyon... Very impressive rig. I used to stop in to bs with him back in the early 80's. He let me drive it out to Hermiston once just for the fun of it. He had a girl named Becky that ran wreckers for him and she was all business, but kinda cute too.

No RZ I never saw that truck. But Oberg did build a few big units.
