How to add pics to forum posts

For members who need information on how to post pictures to the forum, here's a tutorial on how to post pictures using pictures from your computer files. :)

You can add up to 5 pictures to a single forum post. If you need to add more than 5 pics, you'll need to make an additional post. The upload manager has a file auto re-sizer, it's not necessary for a member to manually re-size pics.

Additionally, for the ease of the user learning how to post pics using this tutorial, it would best to have two internet browser windows open with Heavy Truck Forums (HTF) running in both browsers. That way, you can have the tutorial running in one window, and an HTF thread in the other window allowing you to perform the steps in the tutorial. There is a picture testing thread at the Forum Support section of forum Main Menu, located at the "Test Forum" tab where you can test posting pics. So, let's get started.

First of all, when you want to add a pic to a post, you can't add pics using "Quick Reply", you have to click the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the thread.

Once you've opened the Advanced reply screen, simply type the text for your reply in the text box as you would in Quick Reply. To add pics, click on either the paper clip in the toolbar above text box, or scroll down below the text box and click the "Manage Attachments" button.

This will open the File Upload Manager in a new window. Click on the Add Files button in top right corner of Upload Manager.

This will open an Upload window where you can select pics from your computer files. Click on the "Select Files" button at bottom of window.

This will open a new window that allows you to search your computer files for the pic you wish to upload, such as My Documents, My Pictures, etc.

Once you've searched and found the pic file you wish to upload, place your mouse cursor over the file and double left click the pic file.

This will close the window and take you back to the Upload window. You will now see the selected filed in the upload window.

At this point, you can either click the "Upload Files" button to upload the selected pic, or, you can click the "Select Files" button once again and add more pics to the upload box with a max of 5 pics.

Once you click the Upload Files button, the Upload Manager will process the attachment, and move it to the Attachments box. The pic, or pics, are now ready to be uploaded to a thread reply. You now click the "Done" button to upload pic(s).

Once you've clicked the "Done" button, the downloader window will disappear and you'll be back at the Advanced reply screen. Simply move your text cursor where you want to post the pic by using your mouse or the enter button on the keyboard. I typically drop the cursor 3 to 4 lines below the text that I have typed in the text box.

Then click arrow next to the Paper Clip with your mouse cursor, this will open a small window that shows the downloaded attachment(s). Move your mouse cursor over the desired attachment, and click on that attachment.

Once you click the desired attachment, it will be added where you placed the text cursor.

If you have downloaded multiple pics, simply repeat the steps above, place text cursor in desired location, click arrow next to paper clip, click attachment, etc.

Once you've completed adding desired pics, you can either select the "Preview Post" button to view your post to see if there's something you want to edit, or you can select the "Submit Reply" button and your post with pics will be added to the thread you were viewing.

Btw, that is a photo that made Tiny proud of me, I bagged that one with a '94 CH Mack.
Uhhmm, Willie, there is an attach photo button in "quick reply"

I'm trying to learn to post pics from this stupid iPhone. If my laptop isn't fixed soon, I'm going to have to break down and buy one.
