L10 cummins, injectors and jake.

I picked up a ford L9000 single axle this summer with a 280 hp L10, I have quite a bit of white smoke at low rpm, I'm thinking it's going to need injectors, anyone have a rough idea of what it will cost to do them and add a jake?

I can't help you with price but I can tell you the Jake will be a good addition to that engine. I drove a White with a 300 L10 equipped with a Jake throughout the Hudson Valley and it was very effective. I often grossed real close to the 80,000lb limit. I'm pretty sure this engine allows 3 settings, my memory isn't the best. I routinely did an 80,000lb haul coming down off Mountain Top, Pa and I was damn glad I had it!

Its a sweet truck, it was a rider city tractor, the guy I bought it from put a box on it and hauled asphalt for a local paving company. It runs good, just has that smoke at lower rpm.

I've always been a big fan of the L series Ford, I've got a lot of miles in them. Very comfortable, great visibility and a well laid out cab. Good luck with it!
