MH & Coleman conversions

Here's one that I can't find in any books I have, 1949 F-5 COE flathead V-8 Marmon-Herrington conversion. I know and have seen several
early Ford F-1 pickups done by MH but this COE is an odd ball. And on close inspection it was definitely a MH factory conversion.

I'm betting ex fire truck, Possibly US forest service, I saw a similar '53 Ford COE in the Elgin, Oregon (I think) area years ago. It was a county Volunteer rig.

That passenger door almost looks chrome in the first picture the way the paint blistered! You sure know how to sniff them out! I've always liked the fat fendered Fords no matter the version.

Going back to things that ride rough, this thing would kill one's kidney's and create and bad case of the piles.:p. You would have to wear a seat belt to keep
from bashing your head on the roof..
