TRATON runs MAN, SCANIA and VW Trucks divisions, Wonder if the name will change to one of these and COES will return in quantity?

Sad to watch this brand struggle and decline over the years. They were one of the most plentiful and reliable brands when I was a kid and I've seen the light truck division disappear, next the construction equipment and then agriculture division. Watched the name change several times as well. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

It’ll be a good thing for the share holders of Navistar. Probably not a good thing for some of the employees. Navistar gets an infusion of money and VW tech and VW gets a foothold in the US big truck market. I’d be surprised if the casual observer even notices a difference. Parts costs are going to go up, I bet.

Almost bought a used 70 Harvester 1200 series truck in 72, nice looking and roomy but Chevy was less expensive for same years. Parts became a issue when discontinued Pickup line then the Scout line died off. Just no market share in late 70s.
