For what it's worth to the Pacific Northwest guys, the 5th annual Fall FAL rifle shoot is scheduled for September 15th and 16th in south central Washington. Just throwing it out there. Already have 40+ shooters lined up. Anybody that wants to come visit is welcome. I'm the poor schmuck that has to organize this thing. :bangh I'll see if I can drag a link from the FAL Files site.

I had pics from last year but photosuckit ate them.

Went great! We had 32 shooters show up from all over the Northwest, had a good 5 to 8 that pulled out at the last minute for work conflicts (bummer).
I ran with the middle of the pack in the rifle events and ran in 4th overall in the timed pistol events with my pet Beretta 92. The Girlfriend did quite well on 200 yard targets with her new M1 Garand... whupped a couple of the guys too.
All in all a great weekend, everybody shared steaks and beer for the evening meals and lots of chatting around the evening fire. Luckily we had good weather for the firepit.

That's great RZ !

Good shooting , rest & relaxation time at the end of the day

I would like to get an M1 Garand some day .

My shop teacher had an original WW II M1 made by International Harvester , had the IH logo on the side of it . He would bring it to class to show everyone . Can't do that today :(.

Pretty cool rifles !

I almost snagged an IH Garand two months ago. But the money was already earmarked for her rifle, it was a custom build in .308 caliber using NOS wood and all the metal was completely refinished to look like new on a 1945 Springfield receiver. Somehow there is a 4-53 Detroit mixed in as a trade in. My gunsmith buddy wants to repower an early 90's F-350.
