It's old news but some normal shop work. One I rebuilt some months back for a new Freightliner Coronado Gilder for the company I work for.

Those liners sure dont look like they have much wear in them. Still can see cross hatch and dont see hardly any ridge at top other than carbon. Is this pretty typical of a series 60 wear.

I have one im building. I bought as a core motor for 500. Was told it was rebuilt and had only 40k miles on it before truck was wrecked and engine pulled. Anyhow it set on its side on a tire and old pallet in a shed for a long time before i bought it. Was hoping it would be a runner but unfortunately it got water in number one cylinder. All the other liners in my opinin look great. Was hoping to get by by replacing just one liner. Still gona tear it all the way down to bear block and go back up from there.

Series 60's don't wear much but the main problem is liner protrusion height. From a negative .0005 to positive .003 is allowed. When building one the liners need to be a
minimum of .002 above the deck surface on a DDEC 3 12.7L or DDEC 4 14.0 L. The completed one is a 14.0 L the one in the frame is 12.7 and only a head gasket was
being replaced. The complete rebuild had 525,000 on it at the time it went on it's side over wound and bent the valves.

I would correct your cylinder problems throw the head back on and run it. No point in messing with the gear train in the front section if the gears look ok from the bottom, IMO.

Just from total engine hours and fuel consuption data from the ecm im figuring this engine has well over 900k on it. I think it was in framed but seriously have my doubts on the bull gear or crank having ever been out. Unfortunately the previous owner has passed so no info is avalible and lots of speculation lol.
