Boy, you don't waste any time!! I'm anxious to see the result!

I couldn't...all I've been doing is going to work on this every day since day #1 and trying to get it done, lol.
A few shipping glitches for needed parts, and 3 days with the flu that put me on the couch are the only days I didn't have forward motion. Other than that, it was all focused on making things happen.

This morning in a couple of hours, we're setting the bunk on and then I'll run back to the shop I've been working in and wire it and put the boot in between the cab and bunk today. A few odds and ends, and we're done.

Parked side-by-side, my two 78's that I have to tag team today. Mount the bunk on the red one, put the bed slide cylinder back in the green (rollback) also. Never any lack of projects.

A Model Project Progress Continues...

Progress continues.

Friday now, and I'm almost done with everything. Put the bunk on Tuesday 3-28 with the assistance of my friend's 40 ton 2013 389 Pete rotator with a spreader bar to make it painless and easy to set. Piece of cake.

Wednesday and Thursday I worked down the list of items to do...got the stainless bowtie visor on, and the Aerodyne windshields coated in a mirrored vinyl material to reflect sunlight.

Next week I'll put the engine brake on, water pump and exhaust manifold stud kit and gaskets...ready for her debut.

Much appreciated...I agree on the best looking of the KW's too. They were a class all their own, like the 359 was to Pete.

I just HAD to paint that grilldenser, LOL...so Friday I taped it off and sprayed the grill gloss aluminum to get rid of that awful flat black the last owner slathered all over it. Now she looks like she should. I broke the passenger side glass that I just had the glass people install 4 weeks ago (GRRRRR,) by accident while mounting the new visor, so I took that back out and having them cut me a new one again...

This coming week I'm doing exhaust manifold stud kit and gaskets, water pump and Jake installation...hook to the lowbed and start generating a positive cash flow hopefully.Grill~Painted#1.jpgGrill~Painted#2.jpgGrill~Painted#3.jpg

Pretty much done 4-11-2017. Hooked to the RGN, made sure everything worked, brought it home finally. Ready to work. First load will be on Saturday 4-15. Hauling an Oshkosh AWD plow truck with wing from NH to central Mass. Maiden Voyage.

List of small stuff to complete, but all minor. Gotta spend a day or so with the buffer and get the aluminum back to snuff...

Thought I'd throw a few more pics of continuous work with the 78 A Model...

Last month I took a trip to Decatur, Mississippi and worked with a hot rod guy down there and installed a brand new aftermarket Vintage Air a/c system that'll freeze your you know what off...

This past Thursday (7-27-17) I had an old school Caterpillar guru in NH tune this 3406A PCTA motor up a bit, as it was really numb, only got 18 lbs. of boost on a good day. A new turbo with his own combination of ends (only used the stock housing,) a valve adjustment and timing advance and a little bit of fuel to spin the turbo, now it pins the boost gauge. Runs quite respectably now.

Thanks td25c. Been an ongoing labor of love (and a little hate here and there I'll admit.) It's come a loooong way since the day I put it in service in April of 2017. It's a pleasure to drive now with the 3406B I just put in, and a/c, and power steering finally, lol. It was a man's truck prior to all those amenities.

I can't seem to be able to post any pics on this forum for some reason, but I did a bunch on HEF yesterday...? Something change?
