He Had A Chain Drive Hat

This 55 Pete was a one owner most of it's life. The owner now long gone name is Bob Shore, hence the sail boat with the name on the door. The Shoreline.
Bob was pretty grumpy, wore pinstrip overalls and an old truckers hat with a chain across the bill. Hence chain drive hat. He could work the sticks damn
fine I was told. I took this picture in 1989 and this truly was the last working on a daily basis 350 Pete left.

Looks like a fire hazard these days with that stack up against that dry hay.I almost looks like that one bale is covered with protection, can't tell for sure. Those old trucks are my day and age too, actually I was just about getting my license for a 4 wheeler back then. Thanks for posting, thanks for all of your posts.Ron G

I don't recall having ever seen one before, and I am getting pretty old too. Thanks for sharing Truck Shop!

Bob probably wouldn't have tossed the canvas over that bale behind the stack if that hay had some green in it, that hay was from the year before.
And that model was not fun to work on, that cab was stationary-no tilt. Pete didn't sell many of these 350's, they became rare by 1965.
I talked to Bob Shore three times, when you talked or asked about that Pete he would start to smile which was as rare as that Pete. All I can say
is Bob had some great stories. One tough old bird. Hauling hay isn't for weenies.
