Identify this Rear

I came across an old truck (more on this later) and the emblem on the rear caught my attention. Can anyone identify what this emblem is and what it stands for? It appears to have the letters DTA

Never seen one with that cast into it. Split type early 50's and down, 1930's?

Timken Detroit Axle company.

That Twin Disc would be a marine tranny I think,it seems like I am always looking at boat stuff when I see it.I remember those old Reo's when they were new.Ron G
