And that's a 1964 Mercury mid roof 52" stand-up sleeper. Mercury only made fifteen of these in 1964, for some reason they didn't sell very well.
This truck I bought was from the original owner. He told me when he ordered it, it was only the second tilt hood Pete sold in the northwest. He received
it in Oct 66. I saw this truck on the highway when I was twelve in 68 and thought it was the coolest thing on wheels. Never would have guessed I would
own it latter on in life.
It had a BCIII 400-CPL 625, with a reworked 444 turbo, KTA 525 pump 1" gear, Double nie pistons, 300 rail pressure. 14613 sp, SQ100 rears on
pete air leaf, 82 pete out side frame power steering. And Yes It Only Had One Stack-- that's all she needed, in it's day she would RUN.

Thanks, I haven't owned it for years. I removed the sleeper and installed a Holmes 750 on it. Where it is now I don't know. I have a few pics
of it in tow truck form that I will post in the tow truck section.

Truck shop, I just ran across this. We had talked about this truck once before, I do remember that truck when Emil had it, I'm trying to remember where. May have been the docks in Seattle or the elevators in the Tri Cities... Or both. Didn't it sit by I-90 near Cle Elum for awhile for sale?

It was setting on the old highway past the Ellensburg city well station at a place called Strawberry Flats. Emil and his son lived there. Emil showed me fuel receipts from
1967 for 22 cents a gallon. That feller liked to drink, LOL.

The discussion on HEF about that sleeper is unreal. That thing has posed opinions for ever. But if some how it's still alive I would like to see it. Actually I would like to have the truck and the sleeper back:(

To correct this thread-the sleeper on that Pete is possibly an unbranded one made by Truck Trailer.
