NTF 350 oil pump

I'm new here and have a question. I have a 1968 Crown Firecoach with a NTF 350 small cam. It is my intention to air condition my rig. I have found a compressor bracket from a n14 which will work. My issue is regarding relocating my power steering pump.

I would like to be able to put the PS pump in the same spot as a big cam, off the back of oil pump. Is there an oil pump that will fit my small can that has the ability to drive it off the rear? Any help is appreciated.

I can't answer your question but I'd love to see a few pics of your truck. I'm a fan of Crown, we don't see them here at all in the northeast.

The pump that's on it should have a cover on the back for a power steering pump. But with that said I have seen a stationary engine that had
an oil pump that had no access to drive a P/S pump. But I'm quite sure that any of the small cam oil pumps will work on that engine. You
should be able to bolt a Vickers #10 or #20 pump on it.

An employee of mine installed power steering from a c/o Freightliner , NTC350, on a 4000 White, Small Cam. The engine oil pump was changed but I do not thank it came from either. It had an inspection cover in the front and he called my attention to the fact that the gears had no back lash. After some thought I told him get it runable, start it and rev it up. If it is to tight it will scream like a PTO without enough gaskets. It did not and ran for years in yard dog service.

Could you post pics of the engine. Oil cooler and oil pump. Are there 2 external oil pickup tubes going from the pump to the pan?
350 horse power in 1968 was a very high output engine. Turbo chargers and piston cooling were very new in the 1960s. So was power steering.
The two oil pickup lines fed 2 oil pumps in the same pump housing. The second pump fed the piston cooling nozzles with unfiltered oil.
If your engine has the double pump it's unlikely you would find a pump that would mount a power steering pump.

Thinking back I have seen one of those but not with that filter set-up. It was in a White Expeditor compact cab.

After Mantic's reeducation I would consider a PTO driven A/C compressor. Many possible problems with that conversion other than an updated oil cooler filter housing assembly. A kit is, or was, available to install a spin on in place of the pump mounted cartridge.
