Grew up around trucks & equipment. Step dad had a small refuse operation and my grandfather was a trucker. Probably got half a million miles in the jump seat with him (learning all the while) in the late 70's and early 80's. My first full time job (outside tossing trash) was with an old timer who used to retread and still did section repairs. I learned an immense amount about tire service and techniques from him, then went on to work at several major commercial tire dealers across the country doing mobile service on all types of equipment & vehicles before becoming a trucker myself. Bounced back and forth between the industries a few times before hanging up my tire irons for the last time in 2001.
