MoSHP Trooper showed up today, got the VIN Verfied but the Public VIN(17 digit) will have to be replaced. Agreed all the last six OE and Police VIN match so OK with that, there used to be a Tape Tag on the driver door with VIN and GVW numbers but is all washed out. So for $13.50 MO makes a Aluminum VIN Replacement and comes HERE installs it. $330. for the fees and title transfer then will all be complete until license.
Fedex called today, about someone shipping me a 500Lb Cat and she was confused, will be arriving at Fedex Frt terminal in St Clair MO, I explained was a Cat Replacement Cylinder Head, she laughed. I will drive down and receive there as no place to turn delivery semi around here either Friday or Monday.
Had some med tests run today, drank enough barium to have exceeded my old Nuke Plant annual exposure levels. Swung by CAT in Fenton, had made a order last week, WAS NOT IN THEIR RECORDS, had to Start Over, also had NOT sent my paperwork into Office for a Standing Account number, I had a small Shyt Fit, the parts Manager came listened, apologized but offered NOTHING for the BS, may opt to another dealer and have shipped in AROUND them.
Ended up had what I thought had ordered, may be more but NO List, turd failed to send a Bid too on email, yet THAT ADDRESS WAS on file there.
Anyway, bought the parts I could remember, $2481 in these Two boxes
A few odd KW parts in there too, $190 then stopped by steel supplier and picked up these, $120
Rear box mounts Trimmed and installed, will need to use last of KW Spacers on them from frame, brackets need to come back off anyway as was a Little Off that and measurements too so will slot Upper three box mount holes.
Air System is essentially Tight, some minor leaks that will need to chase down, Cab air ride unresponsive, rear suspension also even with blown bags
no air supplied.
Well STILL no engine internals, pistons out of stock as well head spacer plate, MAYBE by end of the week otherwise end of month MAYBE.
Piddle work continues, Batt Box and Tool box both up, some of interior was corrupted beyond repair so all pulled down to bare floor pan, parts ordered at KW, brake treadle replaced, throttle pulled cleaned up parts ordered, got started aligning to install Air Ride passenger seat moving under floor bolting cross member and readying to seal off old holes. Tilt Wheel was frozen, got that freed up, order repair parts.
Sleeper boot torn and cause of seating component corruption, will need boot, full seat belt sets, seats and air supply to Right seat as was a Standard Jump Seat on a box, floor covering.
.This was first hole for air seat base mounting. hit it square, cross members under floor are already rivnut equipped for other options..
Thousand dollars in pieces and fit in a shopping bag, also picked up Cat head spacer plate. Have ordered all new seat belts, new floor covering, several additional small pieces will be in next week. Dealer keeps seats in stock so will gather two up next visit. Engine internal parts should arrive next week where can at least have it Under Head then will have to sit and await refill of accounts to continue!! Injector set $2300, Single Turbo kit $4-5k. Then exhaust and finally Suspension work.
Parts in bags, Throttle pin kit, p/s reseal kit, two fuel caps, tilt latch for column and control cable, both shift boots, throttle to cab mount base, clutch return spring, battery tie down bolts, and misc interior bolts pins and screws.
PS Input seal changed refilled reservoir so far so good. Received call from Fedex Frt., driver will be contacting me as gets close to town where can meet up as will have lift gate and can offload from trailer into my pickup, engine kit is essentially here. Spent remainder of morning whittling on counterbore cleanup.
New seats, Floor covering mat, new seat belts sitting in cab in box and two new Air Cleaner Hinge Mounts, misc small stuff in that same box. Still awaiting Hucks and some other trivial stuff to complete R Door. Also received my replacement Pressure lube tank.
Weather has me cooled off too far now. Work essentially on hold until get some outdoors heat back up, hands do not work well cold anymore. Pieces coming from KW will all be in(Tentatively) by Tuesday next week so IF warms some can get back into it. Fluorescent lighting dimmed by half on unheated side, the temp at three feet above floor was 38F yesterday may get close to freezing by Saturday. Heated side does keep a little heat on unheated side. May have to correct that as I get older!!!
Been COLDER than a well digger's bum here for nearly two weeks, managed to get out in shop a bit yesterday but floor is beyond too cold to lay under ended up piddling in cab. Managed to get Right door nearly assembled, Huck Bolts replaced as found broken and reinstalled glass/armrest retainer panel, lack manual button lock rod to close it up. Set Seat Belt 'Tether' anchors with new bolts and shift boots with new air control sift knob in place. need to measure out and cut shifter hole and seats bolting points in floor mat then clean off cab floor install mat and under dash structures. After that in place will replace Sleeper Boot.
I have gotten seriously further recently. Doors are all back together, Boot seal is complete, floor mat is installed as are seats and replacement seat belts. Heater/AC box is back in the bunk where working on parts for AC Coil and Door entry lamp switches now.
Am trying to get subsystems solid to support Cooling system and electrical system as well be able to test drive the engine once that work is completed. As was pulling heater hoses to the bunk found the added issues and need the cab functional to start the engine.
